The existing playing fields at John Fawkner College, in Melbourne’s northern suburb of Fawkner, were typical of sports grounds around Melbourne, hard, bumpy and difficult to maintain due to lack of water.  In a joint venture between the Moreland City Council and the College a FIFA 2 Star Synthetic Soccer Pitch, including floodlighting and fencing has been installed.
