Congratulations to Gold Winning Kookaburras and Hockeyroos

The Kookaburras secured their status as the dominant team in men’s hockey by defeating India 8-0 in the final of the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games.   

It is an amazing effort by the players, coaching and support staff and it caps off a phenomenal year, which has seen them become the first men’s team to win the World Cup, Champions Trophy and Commonwealth Games titles in the same year.   

In a nerve racking final against New Zealand, the Hockeyroos triumphed with a 4-2 win on penalty strokes.  

The gold medal is a fitting farewell to Coach Frank Murray who will be retiring after the Games.   

Congratulations to the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos.
