New green opens at East Maitland

The prestigious East Maitland bowling club has included the installation of a new bowlsweave synthetic bowling green as part of a major refurbishment of the club.
The Bowlsweave surface is the original woven surface manufactured by GreenGauge surfaces ltd in Scotland.

The upgrade on the existing synthetic green includes the complete removal of the outdated slag base profile and the installation of the latest Tigerbond crushed rock profile. The new green installed last month has a green speed of 14.5 - 15 seconds.
The green has been applauded by everyone at the club as Club director Denis Price commented "the TigerTurf boys finished the green on the Thursday and I had my first game on the Saturday, we all thought that we had died and gone to heaven".

The bowlsweave surface has no sand in the surface and does not require watering. The club sees the change as a major move towards reduced water usage at the club.
