Synthetic surfacing work commence at Parade College
03/03/2011Jo Prothero
Students at Parade College, in Melbourne’s northern suburb of Bundoora, will soon be enjoying the benefits of TigerTurf.
The College’s existing natural grass oval will be transformed to a safe, attractive state of the art multi purpose facility to include a full size synthetic football pitch, running track surround, sprint track, six tennis / netball courts and a long jump run up and pit.
The football pitch will be surfaced with TigerTurf Soccer Real, a 60mm pile height surface that best replicates natural grass playing characteristics, without the need for water and minimal maintenance.
The running track, netball and tennis courts will be surfaced using TigerTurf Tournament 1000. A dense, hard wearing, 19mm sand filled surface to withstand high levels of usage.
The upgrade will not only reduce maintenance costs but provide students with a facility that can be used day in day out without the risk of injury.
Parade College is the oldest of the Christian Brothers schools in Australia since 1871.
Works are scheduled to complete early June 2011. Watch this space for further updates.
