TigerTurf become AFL / Cricket Australia endorsed manufacturer

10/12/2008
Jo Prothero

With the continual climate change it is essential to look at oval surfacing options that require less water, are safe and available for play more often.  Imagine 1500 hours usage compared to 250!

As a result the AFL and Cricket Australia have developed a criteria for synthetic grass to be developed and TigerTurf are among one of three manufacturers to be endorsed.

The licensing program comprises manufacturers endorsement, product laboratory testing, product approval, infield installation, and finally field testing. Only when all these elements have been completed and met the AFL / Cricket Australia criteria will a field certifcation be issued.

TigerTurf invest heavily in R&D and our laboratory technicians are continually developing uniquely crafted surfaces utilising speciality yarns that will service the football and cricket markets.  3rd generation synthetic grass utilise softer monofilament yarn infilled with sand and rubber to best replicate a natural grass surface.

TigerTurf has already installed several recreational ovals at schools throughout Victoria which provide a safe, water free surface capable of being used day in, day out.  We are currently constructing a 20,000m2 project at Mill Park Secondary College, incorporating a synthetic oval and cricket wicket.
